ETF Library Search (V3)
The ETF Search API allows you to check which ETFs the ETF Library covers within the Composites service. It is an optional extra on the baseline Composites subscription. The Search API is read-only: it tells you whether an ETF is covered before you add it to your usage pool, and does not use any of your allowance.
You can access it using the standard API username and password you should have set up already, substituting your tenant name into the URL below and sending the ISINs or FIGIs you want to check in the request body.
POST https://{environment_name}-api.fundapps.co/v3/data/composites/search
Where {environment_name} is replaced with your FundApps tenant name
Authorization
This endpoint uses Basic authentication, for more information please see Authentication for more details.
You will need an API user in order to use this endpoint. You can create this in the main FundApps platform.
Request
Send the ISINs and/or FIGIs you want to check in the JSON body. You can send up to 500 identifiers in a single request, and duplicates are ignored.
{
"isins": [
"DE000A0Q4R36",
"GB0009895292"
],
"figis": [
"BBG0000001"
]
}Response
Our API responds with one row per identifier you asked about, telling you whether the ETF Library covers it. For identifiers we have no ETF for, return a covered set of false rather than an error. A sample is below.
{
"etfs": [
{
"identifier": "DE000A0Q4R36",
"covered": true,
"etfIsin": "DE000A0Q4R36",
"etfName": "BlackRock iShares STOXX Europe 600 Health Care UCITS ETF (DE)",
"matchedOn": "Etf"
},
{
"identifier": "GB0009895292",
"covered": false,
"etfIsin": null,
"etfName": null,
"matchedOn": null
}
],
"message": "1 of the 2 ISINs/FIGIs you asked about are covered by the ETF library. Covered ETFs can be added to your allowance with /v3/data/composites/subscribe."
}The identifier you send can match the ETF itself, the benchmark it tracks, or a variant proxy, so etfIsin can differ from the identifier you asked about. matchedOn tells you what it matched (Etf, Benchmark or VariantProxy), and is null when the ETF is not covered.
Errors
- 400 — the request contained no identifiers, more than 500 identifiers, or one or more invalid ISINs/FIGIs (error is one of no_identifiers, too_many_identifiers or invalid_identifiers).
- 404 — no coverage data was found for the request.
